May Lee has been farming at Minnesota Food Association's Big River Farm near St. Croix for almost ten years. MFA trains farmers who are new to Minnesota, many of them immigrants, on farming techniques suitable to our zone and climate. They also lease plots of land to farmers like May, she calls her farm Mhonpaj's Garden, which is named after her daughter.

May is a pioneer of Hmong growers to be certified Organic, and she's spent a fair amount of time trying to help other Hmong growers to do the same. While she grows lots for wholesale, you can also find May in person each Saturday at the Mill City Farmers Market. If you ever make it over there, be sure to stop by and say hi.
