About Us
Ferndale Market is an independent, 3rd generation Minnesota family farm. Our turkey is certified antibiotic- free (ABF), free-range (excluding winter flocks), and naturally processed in a USDA facility.
Our farm was founded by Dale Peterson, who had grown up in rural North Dakota and studied poultry science in college. He chose the land in the Little Cannon River Valley because of its ideal environment for raising turkeys outdoors. Soon after, Dale married Fern and together they fostered a family farm that has been running strong for three generations.
Ferndale turkeys grow naturally, without the use of antibiotics or artificial growth promotants. During the temperate months, they are rotated on fresh pasture so they have access to clean air and fresh grass. We don’t think there’s any substitute for excellent care and husbandry and we take pride in creating an environment that maintains turkey health without medications.
